What is Haru School?

Haru School is a learning app that has been in development since October 2021. The app features tasks in virtual worlds designed for playful learning, based on the core materials of the "backpack school" program (e.g., "On the Street," "At School," and "Seasons").

Multimedia-enriched learning materials from the "backpack school" program, combined with new methodological approaches and the use of digital media, can lead to improved learning outcomes. This applies to expanded access to information, interactive communication, and opportunities for participation, as well as, at the classroom level, to the increased potential for individualized learning. At the same time, students acquire the necessary skills for successful learning not only at school but also at home with parental support.

More information about the development and creation of the learning app can be found here.

  • This learning app is non-violent and presents only content appropriate for preschool and primary school children.

  • It is simply structured, easy to use, and employs child-friendly language, avoiding excessive text. The content can be read aloud by the talking backpack.

  • This learning app can stimulate your child's imagination and curiosity.

  • This learning app suggests that children take a break after one hour of playtime.

  • It contains no advertising of any kind or only offers content suitable for children.

  • No user account is required.

  • This learning app and all its extensions are free – there are no in-app purchases.

  • Feel free to join one of our "Backpack" parent groups. They take place at 34 primary schools in Hanover (link to map to follow).
